The GVTC Foundation helping uninsured get medical help

Acacia Medical Mission 5K donationAcacia Medical Mission is the latest local nonprofit to receive a grant from The GVTC Foundation. The group received a donation for $5,400 to purchase a new vital signs monitor. The GVTC Foundation volunteers presented the check to Acacia staff at GVTC headquarters. Acacia will use this equipment to provide health care to its many patients it services in Comal County. According to Acacia, 185 of the population in Comal County doesn’t have health insurance. So far this year, they’ve cared for more than 700 patients. Visit their Facebook page to learn more:
